Why are you here?
The next question asked that I would like to focus on is “why are you here?” Have you ever asked yourself this question? I think this question can be asked in a few ways. One way might be “why are you in your current situation?” I don’t think that this should be asked in regard to everything, but it does apply in some situations. Whenever you don’t like something, maybe you should just ask yourself why exactly you are doing it. No matter what you are doing you should ask yourself why you are where you are right now? Why are you at this party? Why are you watching this show?
Another way of phrasing this question refers to a more serious topic. If you are in a relationship with someone, why? Why are you in your current relationship? Is this person helping you become the best version of yourself? Ask yourself if the relationship is helping you get closer to God. Are you just dating someone because you’re having fun and you enjoy the attention? Do you see a future in the relationship?
You can also ask the same questions about your current career choice or even your school. Why do have that job? Why are you at your particular school? Really consider why you have made the choices that you have. Pray about it and make sure you are doing the best you can to follow God’s will.
I would consider the most important way to ask this question to be “why are you here on earth?” Why are you living? What is your purpose? Now, I can tell you the answer to this question. The answer is God. God made you and He made you out of love. God made you in order for you to love and serve Him in this life with the hope of attaining perfect happiness with Him in Heaven.
Asking yourself in these situations is crucial because we must understand why we are doing what we are doing! Is it really helping us grow in to a stronger person?
“God made me to know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him in this world, and to be happy with Him for ever in heaven.”
