Dankness

“And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.”

A friend of mine and I were talking the other day and we started to talk about sin. A lot of sins are things most people wouldn’t do in public. If they did, they would be embarrassed and ashamed. Why is that? I think it is because deep-down, people know these things are wrong. They can feel that something is wrong with their actions. This is why we hide our actions and do not want others to know our sins. We might not even seek the truth for ourselves. This is almost like living in darkness. In my past here were things that I did not want to acknowledge as wrong.

Jesus has come in to the world and given us the gifts we need to make good decisions. But I sometimes chose to say no to what Christ offers. Christ has given us the light but in some areas of my life I want to stay in the dark. One of my good friends recently became Catholic, he decided not to keep living in the dark. He was sick of the way he was living. He didn’t care if people could see because he knew it wasn’t what he was made for. He has chosen to say yes and to let the light shine into the dark areas of his life. After witnessing this, I ask myself what ways I am still choosing to live in the dark.

Just my thoughts

Go with God
